“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.” Psalm 51:17 NIV
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. ” Matthew 5:3 NLT
First we must recognize that we come to Him broken. We do not remain broken, in spirit, as he heals us and makes us whole, but in that our own fleshly desires are broken.
We as believers do not get saved, have redemption, and then return to running the show. We must recognize that to a certain extent in Christ we remain broken to our will and complete in His.
Therefore, in that regard, in order to be truly found resting in Him we ARE BROKEN.
