I am…Fearless

I am…Fearless

I am...Fearless

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” 1 John 4:18 NIV

“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV

Today, God has led me to an issue that I still struggle in and a place where God continues to call me to greater trust and resting in Jesus…Fear.

His word tells us that a  reverential fear as the fear of a father is healthy to grow a heart of obedience.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 NIV

However, many of us, me included, develop not so healthy fears of other things: rejection, failure, etc. Peter is a prime example of fear crippling us in a moment of truth as he was walking to Jesus out on the water and took his eyes off of him and suddenly began to drown. Or when he denied Jesus after his capture, three times for fear of being captured as well.

As we rest in and truly trust in Jesus we are without fear. The fear that cripples, the fear that hinders and destroys is not found in Him and in every moment that we are found in Him, we have no fear.

Therefore, cast all that you are on Jesus in this moment and every moment here after, and BE FEARLESS!

  1. First of all, kudos on listening to Furtick 🙂
Also, this is amazing. You have so many of these, on all these different areas and you do not seem to repeat. It’s great! And it just shows the depth and breadth of our God and the ways He touches our life. Keep up the writing sir, and may God bless you!

  2. It’s so important for people to grasp their identity in Christ! Thanks for sharing! If we don’t trust God for our identity, we’re tossed about and confused.
