I am…Favored

I am…Favored

” For those who find me find life and receive favor from the LORD.” Proverbs 8:35 NIV

“The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”” Luke 1:28 NIV

“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5 NIV

The Lord has given us His favor.

The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia simply defines favor as: “…generally good will, acceptance, and the benefits flowing from these.”

We deserve no good will. We have turned our backs on a holy and perfect God. We have dishonored his name in word and in deed…and yet…He calls us to Him. And yet…he reaches down and saves us… and yet…He loved us enough to die for us.

Why?

Because he wanted to be with us.

He decided that as we accepted His gift in Jesus that He would accept us.

That is His favor.

That is His grace.

We receive unmerited, undeserving, and truly unrequited favor.

We can NEVER repay such a gift of great favor.

We can only hope to fully receive every ounce of it, and do our best to fulfill His calling on our lives because of it.

We can’t work for favor, only from it.

So today, LIVE with the knowledge that YOU ARE FAVORED!
