I am…Eternal

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 ESV

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” John 5:24 ESV

It is a basic concept, but one that for even those NOT in Christ, is of utmost importance. WE ARE ETERNAL. Our souls, our inner most beings,  are immortal. We will last forever and forever.

Our place in Christ secures us a place WITH Christ through eternity.

Let us also recognize that as believers found resting and trusting in Christ,  our actions also have eternal significance. What we do moment to moment matters and matters for all time.

This does not eliminate grace that Christ offers us for our errors; however, some choices cannot be undone. When we walk left in one moment instead of walking right, the future is different for eternity. Maybe in the slightest way, but no matter what WE MATTER.

Realize that today is significant. Today matters. You matter. Each choice matters.

Don’t be exasperated by this, but be aware of that reality.

Since we are in Christ, let us live with an ETERNAL mindset today and be about His mission of building the Kingdom of God.
