I am…a Giver
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35 NIV
“…give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38 ESV
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV
Before we trusted in Jesus for our life and salvation, we were of those that grasped for life. We found and we held unto. We were of the mind that all that we had in this life was obtained through striving. We were of the “survival of the fittest” mentality.
Though Jesus recreated us to fight in the spiritual, He also made us to be generous.
We are…
giving of our time,
giving of our love,
giving of our finances,
giving of any and everything that God has given us.
“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” Matthew 10:8 NIV
As God has given you gifts, GIVE those to his Body; give those to a sick and broken world.
As God gave His son for us as a sacrifice, we are to give.
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her…” Ephesians 5:25 NIV
Today, look at what God has given you in many areas of your life, and realize that a central reason that you have it is to GIVE IT.
In Christ, I am…a GIVER!
Wow!! absolutely Wow. Thank you for these beautifully inspired words. We are to give just as God gives to us every day. Amen!
