“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 ESV
“Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out,” Acts 3:19 ESV
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” James 4:10 ESV
Before we can ever even get to a place of being in Christ, we must have fully repented and humbled our selves before a perfect and holy God.
As we continually are found at peace and in complete, wholeness in Jesus, we are also found to be in continual state of repentance. Instead of blame shifting, simply working harder to “do better,” or rationalizing why our sin was ok…let us lean into our identity. Jesus calls us to repentance. We were made for relationship with a Holy God and that is only possible as we rest in our identity as repentant ones abiding in Jesus.
We will never live lives sin-free but we must live lifestyles of repentance.
In Jesus, I AM…REPENTANT.
