I am…Kept

I am…Kept

 I am...Kept

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:7 KJV

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3 NIV

“The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.” Psalm 121:7 NLT

The Lord in his grace and strength chooses to keep us in his safety, to keep us in his arms, to keep us in His peace. For some this analogy may seem inappropriate, but the first thought that entered my mind when imagining being kept was in reference to the slang idiom of being “a kept man” or woman. This referred to someone who was was a younger companion of an older and wealthy spouse. Being kept in that sense usually meant that the younger person was more likely desire to be in another relationship, but because of the elder’s wealth they were able to keep them in the relationship.

God you are way beyond a sugar daddy, but your love is infinitely sweet!

Lord we repent for sometimes desiring anything but you. We repent for the moments when we run to pleasure, instead running to you to fill us with your joy and love.

Lord we ask for a greater desire for you. We thank you that you are not like man that gives love in exchange for works. We thank you that you give, give, and  give. We don’t deserve you, and yet you keep us in your loving arms. You keep us, Abba, right where we belong.

As we are found in Christ we are truly KEPT!
